Jeux Canada Games Team NB
Congratulations to Proto athletes Ian and Cameron on making the alpine ski team which will be representing New Brunswick next month at the Canada Games in Prince George.
They've trained hard over the past couple of years, and made drastic improvements in their strength, power and control. So far this season, they've been racing well, and I'm expecting them to put up some excellent race times in the GS. Slalom is an event where they typically perform well and the Canada Games should be no different. I'm anticipating Ian and Cameron to surprise a lot of the competition in the the Super G. Traditionally, maritimers to do not do well in this event as there aren't any hills in the region that are big enough to support a Super G course. To overcome this, these skiers along with the New Brunswick team, have traveled to some larger hills and participated training camps there. It is because of this quality practice coupled with the specific training we've been doing in the weight room that I expect both Ian and Cameron to do well in the event.
Make us proud, guys!
